Tour to the Douro Valley
Join our most popular tour and discover the Douro Valley and its unique culture while tasting amazing wines and learning about the winemaking process at small local Quintas/Wine Estates. Be amazed by stunning landscapes as terraced vineyards start to unfold.
We will pick you up at your hotel or accommodation in Porto city between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM. Your guide will introduce themselves, as well as all the other guests, and will outline the day's itinerary. The journey begins towards the Douro, where you will learn more about the region along the way.
The itinerary includes visits to two small local wine estates, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, before returning to Porto. At both wine estates, you will be accompanied by a specialized local guide who will tell you more about the winemaking process while you taste the selected wines.
At lunchtime, we stop in the village of Pinhão, a historic location in the heart of the Douro, where lunch takes place in a traditional local restaurant, including a choice of fish, meat, or vegetarian meal (we can also accommodate your meal if you have a gluten-free diet – please inform us in advance).
Immediately after lunch, it's time for the 1-hour river cruise from Pinhão! This cruise takes place on a replica of a Rabelo Boat, a historic vessel that transported wine barrels from the Douro to Porto to be aged and exported worldwide.
We will also make short stops for photos and to admire the surroundings and nature at local viewpoints throughout the day.
Return to Porto is around 6:00 PM, with the certainty of having experienced a memorable journey filled with knowledge about wine, landscape, and the local culture of this beautiful and unforgettable destination.
